The Public Pool is not open yet.
This page describes the planned contribution service. When it opens, you will be able to choose whether to contribute idle computer capacity to sandboxed public jobs, set resource limits, and earn credits for pool compute.
The Public Pool is not open yet. Its counter will show machines contributing and work completed when the service opens. There is no number here today because there is nothing yet to count, and a placeholder number would be the first lie on a page about trust.
Totals only, always. How many machines and how much work — never who, never where.
Planned: sandboxed idle-compute jobs
The Public Pool is not open yet. Planned public work has explicit limits on time, resources, and data access.
Sandboxed jobs with resource limits
When the Public Pool opens, it is planned to run sandboxed batch work, size- and time-capped, with no network access from inside the sandbox. Jobs come only from sources we sign — at launch, only ours.
Public jobs exclude private prompts and files
The planned public jobs are designed not to include someone else's conversation, files or prompts. The Public Pool is not open yet, so no public jobs are being served today.
Pause public work when you return
The planned contribution limits are idle only and plugged in only, with an unwaivable thermal limit. Work is designed to stop when you touch the keyboard.
Verify completed jobs
The planned verification process sends the same shard to several machines and compares answers byte for byte.
Planned limits for a future service
The Public Pool is not open yet; these are plans, not available controls.
- Optional participation. If the service opens, contribution is planned to require an explicit opt-in.
- Idle and plugged in. Planned contribution limits include idle and plugged-in conditions.
- Sandboxed jobs. Public work is planned as sandboxed batch jobs; this service is not available in the beta.
How public contribution and credits are planned
The Public Pool is not open yet. If it opens, contribution and credit rules will be published before people can participate.
Any future credits are planned for use toward pool compute, not as money. The service is not open, and no public contribution or redemption is available today.
Queue behavior and any effect of contribution on priority have not been published. No public queue or priority benefit is available while the service is closed.
Credits are a claim on pool compute, not money. They are spendable when the pool has capacity to spend them on, and your balance tells you which it is. They do not convert to cash.
The full terms are at Credits Terms, in plain words, and the app shows the same sentence beside the switch.
Choose whether to contribute
The Public Pool is not open yet. Its contribution switch will be optional if and when the service opens. Download PoolParty for your own machines from the download page.
