PoolParty Credits Terms
Public beta · version beta-1 · last updated 2026-10-01
These terms are part of our Terms of Service and the End User Licence Agreement. They are between you and PoolParty Labs LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (“we”, “us”, “our”), and they explain what a PoolParty credit is during the beta.
The short version
This summary is here to help you read the terms. The full text below is what governs.
- A credit is a unit PoolParty uses to count work: computing, storage and data transfer, done and used in pools.
- Credits are not money. They have no cash value, are never paid out, and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money or anything of monetary value.
- Between your own machines, credits are only a measure. They show where work went, and they cost you nothing.
- On The Public Pool, once it opens, your machine can earn beta credits for verified work at the rate PoolParty posts.
- We may correct, reset or end beta credits. If a marketplace ever opens, whether beta credits carry over will be set by terms published then. Nothing here promises that they will.
1. What a credit is
1.1 A credit is an entry in the ledger PoolParty keeps of work done and used in pools: machine time, storage and data transfer, measured in credits.
1.2 Credits exist only as records in PoolParty’s ledgers: the one each pool’s hub keeps for that pool, and, for The Public Pool, the one we keep.
2. Credits are not money
2.1 Credits have no cash value. They are not money, currency, electronic money, a deposit, a security, a financial product, a gift card or property, and they earn no interest.
2.2 Credits cannot be bought, sold, transferred, traded, redeemed or exchanged for money, goods, services or anything else of monetary value, inside or outside PoolParty, except as PoolParty’s own features allow.
2.3 We never pay out credits.
3. Credits in your own pool
Work between the machines in your own pool is counted in credits so that you can see what each machine gave and used. It costs you nothing, and it creates no obligation between you and us or between the people in your pool.
4. Beta credits on The Public Pool
4.1 Once The Public Pool is open and you join it, your machine can earn beta credits for work that is verified as done, at the rate and within the limits PoolParty posts. The rate and limits may change; the app shows the current ones.
4.2 Credits are earned only for verified work. Work that fails verification, is duplicated, comes from tampering or abuse, or is credited by mistake earns nothing, and we may reverse any credits recorded for it.
4.3 What beta credits can be used for during the beta is shown in the app, and may change.
5. A future marketplace
PoolParty may later open a marketplace or change how credits work. If it does, whether and how beta credits carry over, convert or can be used will be set out in new terms published at that time, which you would accept separately. We do not promise that beta credits will carry over or convert into anything.
6. Corrections, expiry and reset
6.1 The Public Pool’s ledger, which PoolParty shows you, is the record of your beta credits there. We may correct errors in it at any time. The ledger in your own pool is your pool’s, not ours.
6.2 We may expire, reset or cancel beta credits, including at the end of the beta or if The Public Pool closes. Where we reasonably can, we will give at least 30 days’ notice in the app or on the website.
6.3 Credits tied to a device or a membership end when that device or membership is removed, or when your access ends under the Terms of Service.
7. Fair play
Do not fake, inflate or tamper with work, measurements or the ledger, run several identities to collect credits, or otherwise game the system. If you do, we may cancel your credits and remove your machines from The Public Pool.
8. Taxes
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you.
9. Changes
We may change these terms in the way the Terms of Service describe. Joining The Public Pool asks you to accept the Credits Terms version in force at that time.
